Henry B. Stebbins

Henry "Hank" Stebbins has regularly been listed as one of the "Top Lawyers in New Hampshire" and has for over fifteen years been selected as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" by the prestigious Woodward White Survey, where he has been recognized as a "Best Lawyer" in four separate categories including corporate, real estate, land use and zoning, and banking law.

Mr. Stebbins, a New Hampshire native, has played significant roles in the State-wide political campaigns of Senator Judd Gregg, Senator John Sununu and Governor John Lynch. Additionally, he served as New Hampshire Legal Counsel and co-chairman of the Finance Committee for the Dole for President Campaign, and was a member of President George W. Bush's Finance Committee.

After graduating from UNH, he studied at Oxford University and then received his J.D. from Boston University Law School. When Mr. Stebbins returned to New Hampshire, he became actively involved in several civic and educational organizations. He has served as campaign chairman of the United Way of Greater Manchester, chairman of the Vocational Partnership Foundation, a long time Trustee of the Manchester Boys and Girls Club, Director of Waterville Valley Festival of the Arts, and Director and Legal Counsel of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, Hank's civic involvement has focused on public higher education, serving as a Trustee of the University System of New Hampshire.

Hank was lead counsel in the landmark zoning law decision of Simplex Technologies v. Town of Newington. The Simplex decision changed the New Hampshire landscape and standards for zoning variance reviews, while at the same time delivering a favorable and rational result for developers who have routinely been unfairly denied use of their land at the hands of local zoning boards.
