David P. Van Der Beken
David Van Der Beken has been named one of the "Top Lawyers in New Hampshire" by NH Magazine in recent years and has been selected as one of the "Best Lawyers in America". Mr. Van Der Beken specializes in corporate, trademark and commercial law. Clients include well known corporations, physician practices, construction companies, credit unions, banks and automotive dealerships. Prior to founding SL&V, he was an attorney and partner at the law firm of Sheehan, Phinney, Bass and Green P.C. from 1985-1997, and legal counsel and Vice President of the former Indian Head Banks from 1982-85. He also served as law clerk to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in 1977-78. He then joined the law firm of Thomas and Sewell P.C. in Alexandria, Virginia leaving in 1982 to return to his native State of New Hampshire
David is a member of the New Hampshire and American Bar Associations, and a former Adjunct Professor of Law at Franklin Pierce Law Center. His past community activities include serving as Board member and President of Child Health Services, Director of the Elliot Hospital and member of the Quality Assurance Committee of Optima Health, Board of Directors of Catholic Medical Center and member of the Properties Committee, member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Manchester YMCA, cabinet member of the 1997 and 1998 United Way of Greater Manchester, Moderator and Trustee of the First Baptist Church, member of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, and a regular volunteer official for New Hampshire High School Swimming and the District YMCA competitive swimming programs.
Mr. Van Der Beken graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from University of New Hampshire 1973, and received his M.B.A. from Boston University in 1974, and his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1977.
